Washing your extensions
Get the basics right and your extensions stay clean, fresh and looking lush for far longer.
Proper washing technique
Use a shower or a jug to rinse, pouring water down the hair for minimal tangling and matting.
Washing frequency
Wash 1–2 times a week for best results. Enough to stay clean and fresh, never over-washed.
Use the correct products
Our conditioner is specially designed to keep extensions soft, healthy and maintain their integrity over time.
Mid-to-ends only
Only apply conditioner and oils from mid-lengths to ends. Avoid the bonds to prevent slippage.
Weekly treatments
Start a Treatment Sunday routine using our Extension Boost for optimal softness and longevity.

Drying, styling & brushing
The little habits that keep extensions silky, knot-free and looking salon-fresh between washes.
Gentle brushing
Hold and support your hair at the root while brushing to prevent tugging. Always start from the bottom and work your way up.
Prevent matting
Brush from the root, gently working between rows to keep bonds separate and avoid matting.
Use scrunchies
Swap hair elastics for scrunchies to reduce breakage and protect your extensions.
Dry thoroughly
Always blow-dry completely. Never go to bed with wet hair, it leads to matting and dryness.
Protect from heat
Apply a heat protection spray before styling. Use a quality argan oil at night to keep extensions soft by morning.
Plait at night
Plait hair loosely before bed to prevent knotting or rubbing, protecting your extensions while you sleep.

A quick guide for every morning, evening, and the bigger washes. Stick to this and your extensions will love you.
Step 1
Morning
- Brush with a detangle brush, starting from the ends to prevent tugging at the roots.
- Style as normal, always use heat protection if using hot tools.
- Finish with a mist of shine spray for a polished, frizz-free look.
Step 2
Evening
- Apply a small amount of argan oil from mid-lengths to ends.
- Loosely plait your hair before bed to prevent tangling.
- This locks in moisture overnight and keeps mornings easy.
Step 3
Every 2–3 days
- Wash with extension-safe shampoo twice, gently between rows.
- Apply conditioner mid-lengths to ends only, never the roots.
- Finish with a light leave-in for extra softness, then blow-dry fully from the bottom up with a heat protectant on a lower heat.
Step 4
Every 2 weeks
- Apply our Extension Boost Treatment in place of conditioner.
- Leave for 20 minutes, then rinse.
- Keeps your extensions soft, strong and looking their best.

Extra care for hair systems
Your system is a beautiful piece of craftsmanship, looking after it properly keeps it feeling lovely and lasting much longer.
The essentials
- 01Brush your system gently before shampooing to avoid tangles. Detangle carefully to minimise pressure on the weave or closure.
- 02Apply conditioner for 3–5 minutes before combing through with a shower detangler, make sure 80–90% of the wetness is removed first.
- 03Only apply conditioner from the ponytail down. Avoid contact with the closure base and the mesh.
- 04Wash your system vertically, not in circular motions. Limit washing to once or twice a week to protect natural oils and reduce heat exposure.
- 05Use only the recommended products and brushes. Always apply leave-in conditioner to the ends to maintain softness.
- 06Remove 90% of dampness before blow-drying. Brush gently to avoid irritating the mesh or base.
- 07Rinse thoroughly before shampooing and only use a detangling brush on wet hair.
- 08Apply heat protection when using styling tools. Refittings should be done every 10–12 weeks.
- 09Protect your system when swimming or travelling to hot climates.
When to replace your system
You may want to replace your hair system if you notice any of the following:
- Significant hair breakage, shedding or thinning, especially around the front.
- Fading colours, like red or brassy tones, that can't be revived.
- Hair feels dull, frizzy or dry, and a deep argan oil treatment doesn't restore the shine.
- You simply want a new look, longer length, or to accommodate your natural hair growth.
If your hair has outgrown the system, you can opt for a longer one instead of cutting your hair.
